So… how exactly does your husband tell you he wants you to be with another man?
Because I can promise you, that was not something I ever expected to hear from mine.
Remember, my husband and I have been together since we were 16.
We were high school sweethearts. We got engaged at 18, married at 21, and basically grew up together.
Our relationship had always been pretty traditional.
And we'd always had a great sex life.
So when he first started hinting at the idea of me being with someone else, my immediate thought was basically:
Wait… WHAT?
It didn't start with “I want you to be a hotwife.”
Honestly, I don't even think I knew what the word hotwife meant at the time.
It started much more subtly.
Questions.
Hypotheticals.
Little comments here and there.
He would bring up scenarios involving another guy and ask what I thought about them.
At first, I didn't take any of it seriously.
I assumed it was just one of those fantasies that's fun to talk about because you know it's never actually going to happen.
But he kept coming back to it.
Eventually, I realized…
Oh. He's actually into this.
And naturally, I had questions.
A LOT of questions.
“Why would you want that?”
This was probably the hardest part for me to understand initially.
We'd been together forever.
We were happy.
We had a good relationship.
We had a good sex life.
So why would my husband want another man anywhere near that?
My brain immediately tried to make sense of it using everything I thought I knew about relationships.
Is he bored?
Does he want to be with other women?
Is this some kind of test?
Would he actually be okay with it afterward?
And one of the biggest questions:
“Wouldn't you get jealous?”
That's when we started having some surprisingly deep conversations.
He explained that, for him, it wasn't about replacing anything we had.
It wasn't because something was missing.
The fact that I was his wife was actually part of what made the fantasy exciting to him.
That took me a while to wrap my head around.
Then he started showing me the lifestyle.
This is where Reddit eventually entered the picture.
He started showing me posts from other couples.
I started realizing there were actually married couples who did this.
And apparently… some of them were having a LOT of fun.
Suddenly this weird fantasy my husband had wasn't quite as weird as I'd originally thought.
There was an entire community built around it.
Still, looking at other people doing something and imagining yourself doing it are two completely different things.
And at this point?
I still wasn't convinced.
But something had changed.
The idea was officially in my head.
That's the part I don't think my husband realized at first.
He'd planted this tiny little seed.
And every once in a while, I'd find myself thinking about it.
Not necessarily because I wanted to actually do it.
At least… that's what I told myself.
I was curious.
What would it feel like?
Would I actually enjoy it?
Would my husband really enjoy knowing about it?
Would things feel weird between us afterward?
Could we actually do something like this and still have the same relationship?
There were a million unknowns.
But there was also something exciting about having this completely private fantasy between us.
Talking became part of the fun.
We started discussing it more openly.
Sometimes seriously.
Sometimes jokingly.
Sometimes one of us would push the conversation a little further and the other would suddenly get nervous.
There were boundaries.
Then those boundaries changed.
There were things I'd immediately say absolutely not to… only to become curious about them months later.
And there were plenty of moments where we'd talk ourselves into the idea and then immediately talk ourselves right back out of it.
That cycle went on for YEARS.
Seriously.
People sometimes see where we are today and assume my husband said, “Hey, you should be a hotwife,” and I immediately ran out the door.
Absolutely not.
This was a very, very slow burn.
And then I started posting.
Before I was ready to actually explore anything in real life, showing myself off online became a much safer way to play with the fantasy.
My husband loved it.
And unexpectedly…
I loved it too.
There was something exciting about being desired.
About knowing other people were looking at me while my husband knew exactly what was happening.
It also started building a confidence in me that I hadn't really experienced before.
Eventually, I made my own Reddit account in 2023.
And that's when things really started shifting for me.
It wasn't just his fantasy anymore.
Slowly…
It was becoming mine too.
That's probably the biggest thing I want people who are curious about this lifestyle to understand.
My husband never convinced me to become a hotwife.
He introduced me to a fantasy.
Then he gave me the space to figure out how I felt about it.
And somewhere along the way, curiosity became excitement.
Excitement became conversations.
Conversations became possibilities.
And eventually those possibilities became…
Well.
That's the next story.
Because even after years of talking about it, posting online and fantasizing together, actually deciding we were going to make it real was a completely different experience.
And yes…
We chickened out.
More than once. 😂
